Communication Studies student Nicole Miller has been accepted to present at the 2019 Research in the Capitol. Under the direction of Dr. Katherine Rafferty, Miller and Sydney Ellis (World Languages and Cultures) conducted research on social support communication needs for parents of children living with complex chronic conditions and will present this research on April 1st at the Iowa State Capitol. The research is timely given current legislation that is in the works to increase parents’ rights and decision-making powers regarding their children’s health.
