Last month, we had 18 Communication Studies students graduate with either a COMST major or minor. We are so proud of you all! Read more about three of our graduates and their future plans below.
A few of our amazing students
-
JJ Wilson

Graduating with a major in Communication Studies and a minor in Leadership Studies, JJ found COMST concepts extending beyond the classroom and into everyday friendships. One standout memory? Peavy rage-baiting the entire class in theories—an unforgettable COMST moment.
Looking ahead, JJ will be serving as a missionary in the U.S. and Botswana, using the communication skills gained through COMST to connect with and minister to others. We’re wishing JJ the very best in this next chapter 🌍
-
Eliza Cunningham

Graduating with a major in Communication Studies and a minor in Sustainability, Eliza found community, leadership, and lasting memories in COMST. From close connections with classmates and professors to growing skills that prepare her for life after Iowa State, her experience truly felt like a home away from home.
Next up: staying in Ames and starting her job search, where she hopes to combine communication and sustainability to help educate others on why it matters 💛
-
Tucker Pease

Graduating with a major in Communications and a minor in Sociology, Tucker’s time in COMST helped him grow as both a student and an engaged member of society. From meaningful class projects like a semester-long fundraiser with the Ames Animal Shelter, to building lifelong friendships and skills, COMST opened doors and pushed him ahead of the curve.
After graduation, Tucker will be staying in Ames and stepping into a full-time role with Barr-Nunn Transportation as a Team Lead/Driver Manager, ready to put his communication skills to work 👏

We are excited for you all & will miss you!
Best wishes and congratulations again to all of our graduates. We have loved having you in our program. You will always be part of our Communication Studies family. We cannot wait to see all the good you do in the world!
